Very few things in history compare to the brutality of Stalin.

Nothing can take away the fact farms in pre-communist Russia were operated on a communal basis. No Russian peasant struck out on his own with a Fordson tractor to break up the back forty. Peasants were the property of the nobles, there was a womb to the tomb plan, they were born to be pushed around and had not our conception of ownership.

Here is one look at Russia from that time.
