McCain: Ban Egyptian, Saudi Planes From Landing in U.S
Of course, Egypt and Saudi Arabia just see statements like this as proof of the plot against them. That's the great thing about paranoia -- you may not start out by having enemies around, but your behavior will create them soon enough, and then ALL evidence is proof of the plot.
There's an interesting article in the November Atlantic about the crash of EgyptAir Flight 990. The investigation turned into prolonged warfare between the NTSB, which wanted to publish the only conclusion supported by the evidence, namely that the co-pilot committed suicide, and the Egyptians, who were clearly under orders to reach any conclusion but that their guy did it. The final report is not out yet, but looks like NTSB will win the war, but have a set of new battlescars. |
