update on Norton 2001 AV conflict with W2000 SP2:

I decided to try a shortcut to the procedure you posted. I didn't uninstall SP2. I did use the Add/Remove function to attempt to remove Norton 2001 but the uninstall wizard hit an error, unable to find the install file. I decided to install Norton AV 2001 again anyway. It seems to be back on the job so apparently installing over is a way to solve the conflict. Hope so anyway.
