We are guilty of poking our noses into their affairs, carving up land and forming countries, and undermining their cultures. One of the reasons Afghanistan is such a large drug dealing country is that their framers have been devasted by the Russian invasion. economist.com We are indeed free-er to do what we like and have the technology to do it, but they are not and need time to bring themsleves into the 20th Century. I say we should work with them, and help them be what they wish to be, within limits, and co-exist. We can start by not propping up corrupt leaders.
