A very overlooked angle or undercurrent is the psychological. It took the Iraquis apart in days with relentless carpet bombing with bomblets and leaflets followed by the gunships. The same is facing the Taliban. The carnage on the ground is horrific already I'm willing to bet if any of those troops are concentrated which is the only way they can defend anything. Osama will survive, for a time, in a cave or whatever. His troops can't possibly if they are intent on fighting. Special forces are going to turn out to be the real "terrorists" in Afghanistan and the Taliban will collapse well before Thaksgiving, I predict. George K.
