If you read him carefully, I think he says the markets will turn up before long. But not just yet.

His focus is more on the major trend than short-term fluctuations. His suggestion that people stay heavily waited in long-term bonds (he has been saying this for many months) has been right on the money.

BTW some people are arguing that much of the excess liquidity now being created will find its way into commodities rather than stocks. The CRB is at its lowest level since 1986 I think and probably is lower in real terms today than during the 1930s depression.
