Ike....you know I have followed you for years and have a HUGE amount of respect for you and, indeed, have come to your defense on several occaisions against abusive posts to you.
However, I am not prepared to surrender my responsibility to myself and follow your posts without questioning and evaluating my own thoughts with regards to them.
Unquestioning adulation in figureheads and beliefs are to a large extent what has got us to where we are today. Many people have stopped thinking for themselves and succumbed to unquestioning adulation and reverance. When you write to us, I still want to know "Are these Ike's words?" or "Are they published comments?" or are they "Unpublished but from a third party?". I have no trouble accepting any of the above but I want to know. What am I to make of a post that is part Ike, part third party, part published commentary presented so that I cannot distinguish ?
I'm sorry but I want to have the information so I can evaluate and think about the post in an informed manner and arrive at my feelings on the issue being presented.
This is neither "questioning your integrity" nor "minimizing the significance of your posts". It is merely being completely informed as to what I am reading.
I will say this "out loud" for the benefit of other readers here but surely you know by now this to be the case.
"I think your posts and your values are truly inspirational and look forward to each and every post you make".
This is the last I will post on this issue and should you choose, you certainly may have the "last" word.
The world is but one country and mankind it's citizen.
