There have been many essays on this that are more eloquent than I could be extemporaneously. However, I would say, that in torturing people, we lose our humanity.

I have no doubts that it could be effective, I've got concerns about the side effects to us. I don't doubt that killing all the members of the third world countries in the Middle East with neutron weapons could be effective in ending strife there : no people - no strife. And these weapons would have very low residual radiation.

I worry for you bland if you really would take glee in torturing people. If that was the only way, I think I could muster the strength to do it. Hell, I'm pretty sure I could do an emergency trachyotomy on my wife or kids, but hardly relish the opportunity to do so.
