This isn't an academic exercise in high school civics.

I generally am a strong defender of civil liberties. We must recognize practicalities, though. There appears to be be very good reason to believe a few of these men hold information that could be key in breaking the back of an organization that has declared ALL Americans its enemies.

Let me present another argument also: We have already seen an erosion of civil liberties because of the Sept. 11 attack. What will happen after another such incident? And another after that? The price paid now may be much cheaper.
