These are standard fighting words used by all peopled all over this planet. Who was responsible for the statement "I regret that I have but one life to give for my country"? Like every other ideology, it promises a victory on this earth, not just a victory in another. That means that faced with defeat, the leaders of the survivors, no matter how hard they fought while hope was with them, will say something like "I will fight no more forever" and lay down their arms. We have an historical tendency to make our opponents into supermen, but they're just like everybody else. Now their old men and boys are going up against the best of our elite forces. Is it really that hard to predict the result? -- Carl
