Dave ... yep .. know him vert well, and he is 'quite' and interesting guy ... few years ahead of me at TT... went there on a football scholarship ... and to say he has a bunch of old cars is very much an understatement .... I've done a bit of business over the years with Dave and it is refreshing to say that, while he is tough/tight/mean when it comes to arriving at "the deal" ... he is a complete man of his word when the handshake takes place to seal "the deal". I bought a vehicle from him a long time ago .... we haggled for better than two weeks on the price, maybe a couple of hours worth of eye ball to eye ball talking ... I called him on the phone at home one night and we got to the final price .... as I was to be gone for a couple of days, I told him I'd settle up the next week .... It wasn't a whole lot of money .... but, while I was gone he had a chance to sell it for nearly double what I'd agreed ... nope ... it was mine and when I went to see him he gave me the man's name and number who had tried to buy it . I called the dude, made a deal with him and gave Dave half the profit .. but had a HARD time getting him to take it ... did prevail when I told him that I would probably just squander it on hard whiskey, hot women, and slow horses ..... that did the trick .... he took the dinero ... I'll be in Dallas the rest of the week, as I'm leaving in just a bit, but I'll make sure and tell him that I'm tickled to know that he is now a celebrity .... thanks for letting me know bout the article
