Gold Canyon subsidiary commences drilling on Cordero

Mon 22 Oct 2001

News Release

Mr. Michael Levinson reports

Gold Canyon Resources' wholly owned subsidiary, Gold Canyon Resources (USA)
Inc., has now commenced the phase I drilling program on the company's
Cordero gallium property in Humboldt county, Nevada. As previously
announced by the company, the phase I drilling program will consist of
roughly 2,287 metres (7,500 feet) of reverse circulation drilling with a
projected budget of $100,000 (U.S.). Drilling will be a combination of both
angle and vertical holes to test both high-angle structural targets, and
bedding replacement targets. The drilling will test targets in the "M"
fault zone with work also planned in the North Ruja and Southwest extension
zones. The majority of the drilling will test near surface targets in what
is believed to be oxide-dominated mineralization. Two deeper holes are
planned to depths of roughly 244 metres (800 feet). These holes will target
mineralization at and below the limit of oxidation.
