To all: I just had a phone call from a fellow surveyor. He called from the field about some business, and as we were talking he said he was watching a dark colored helicopter with some sort of black bag suspended from it on a cable. It was flying back and forth in a grid. He also said that there were seismic crews on the ground with the usual equipment(gps, cable, 4-wheelers etc...). I asked him to see if there were any markings on the helicopter, but he said he couldn't tell. Per, I know that you follow AXPL. Do they have any type of helicopter mounted unit? This could be just some type of GPS surface mapping system, but I got pretty excited anyway. With this no information situation we have, anything could be happening. I will keep everyone posted if new info comes up. alan w
