Larry, IMO it has everything to do with the way the Bush administration is handling the terrorist. They didn't go in alone and bomb like madmen, they created a coalition that includes Pakistan, India and China no less. The weakness in both crude and gold is essentially a reflection of that confidence created by this unity.

It seems like everyone is towing the line here…Now…I did an google internet search using the term security+oil+middle east and was shocked at the immensity of the security needed to keep the ME in the business of exporting oil. Hell if I know how this is being managed…incredible!

Will it last? Good question, ‘cause I can’t believe the amount of turmoil in the ME. By the way, all it took was one bullet hole in the Alaska pipeline to hold up 1/5 of the U.S. domestic supply. I’m trying to imagine what a rocket launcher in the box of a pick-up truck, or what a suicide bomber at one of the port terminals would do.

It’s becoming very clear that ME oil is much more expensive then what it’s being traded at.

Regards
Frank P.
