Those Brentwood postal workers who sort and deliver mail to the Capitol are not very happy. They were not even tested, and their spokesperson said she was told they didn't need to be tested because anthrax doesn't come out of sealed envelopes. Two are dead as a result, and several more are seriously ill. At least they didn't panic. We soothed them with the lie that we actually knew anything about the characteristics of the anthrax we were dealing with.

I note that the Senate took an extended leave of absence while the capitol building was scrubbed of the anthrax that was contained in their mail, and yet the Brentwood postal workers who deliver their mail were not only allowed to go to work, but weren't even tested. I wonder if the same thing would have happened if that post office had been, say, in Georgetown, or in the Embassy District, instead of bordering a poor, black, neighborhood of D.C.
