Mitch -- I truly wish you are correct that we can be decent and effective. What I am saying is that, personally, if neccesary to protect our innocent people, I would compromise decency for effectiveness. I hope it doesn't come to that.

We are getting in bed with Russia and the cold war mentality will be old history. At the same time, we are trying to be less dependent upon Arab resources. Russia has enormous oil reserves, and one investment I've been in has been LUKoil, which has more proven oil reserves than any private company in then world. It sells for $42 per ADR, with earnings of abt $18 per ADR share. The risks have been Russian instabillity, accounting, and corruption. As Russia get closer to the West, I think these risks will diminish. Remember, I hold some and am biased. Getty Oil is owned by LUKoil, so they are represented in the USA.
