Its my understanding of these secondary offerings that the price of the offering is not set arbitrarily. But is the average closing trading price of the units for the past X number of days. Using this bit of information it might be a good idea for someone to go through the numbers to check if this is indeed the case. Well I did go through the numbers indeed. Here are my findings. For SHN.UN the average closing price for the past 15 days prior to the announcement was $13.40. For AET.UN the average closing price for the past 15 prior to the announcement was $ 11.01. Now compare these numbers to the offering prices quoted in the releases. $13.40 for SHN.UN and $11.00 for AET.UN. Gee what a surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much for the conspiracy theory.
