U.S. Commandos Seize Osama Evidence

Monday, Oct. 22, 2001 7:16 p.m. EDT

U.S. special forces who entered Afghanistan on an intelligence-gathering mission over the weekend may have discovered new evidence indicating the whereabouts and travel habits of Osama bin Laden.

"Officials say documents were seized by U.S. forces at one site," reported ABC Radio News late Monday. "They are now being analyzed for clues about the movements of bin Laden and other terrorist leaders."

The U.S. is conducting reconnaissance flights in the area on a 24-hour basis in an all-out effort to pinpoint bin Laden's Al-Qaeda hideouts.
