My 2 cents on slow adoption. Most people are inherently lazy and don't want to take the time to set up something that they will have to read a little about or put some effort into. I was using electronic bill payment from my online account for a few months but saw no real benefit from it. It took me more time to log onto the net, go to my online bank, log in and set up a payment than it did to pull out my checkbook, scribble out my payment and stick a stamp on the envelope (maybe with DSL or cable I would feel differently). I tried the service because I though it was cool and I'm a bit of a web addict but the novelty wore off for me. I'm sure that some will find a benefit using it but if it costs money and takes more than 30 seconds of effort the first time, my opinion is that it will be slow going.
