Cary,
I am not proposing use. I am just arguing the point for arguments sake because if we take another hit with 5 or 6 figure casualties the drumbeat will start. Now to your points:
1. "The nazis were defeated without nukes."
Yes but nukes were used on the japanese in the belief that we were saving hundreds of thousands of american lives.
2."Both nazis and terrorists, profound incarnations of evil, had there genesis in more benign evil committed by others. "
Makes no sense to me. What benign evil are you talking about that caused terrorism and nazism????
3."There is too much evil in the world for easy solutions"
There is too much evil in the world for us not to concentrate on it without all this handringing and moralizing. These guys have bombed us and perhaps are now using bioterror. They or any other living terrorist wont be able to do that when dead. The one good thing capital punishment does is to rid the world of many murderers likely to murder again. Same here.
Regards, MIke
