That's the catch. By maintaining marketshare, they not only kill off their current ASPs, they are also making it extremely tough to crawl out of that hole they dug for themselves. Hammer is mere wishful thinking on the part of AMD's management, a hope that they can repeat the miracle of Athlon. Hammer might be an evolutionary step, but it's nowhere close to the miracle they're hoping for.

And that's a shame, that their crack team of engineers has to answer to a management team on crack.
