Bank Of Canada lowered their overnight lending rate .75% to 2.75, it's lowest point in 40 years. Finally going to lock in my mortgage at 5.25%.

While such an aggressive easing would at other times raise fears of inflation down the road, analysts have said that's no longer an issues, given how weak the economy is.

The central bank also said it expects the economic slowdown to keep a lid on inflation, likely holding it below two per cent if energy prices remain steady.

Last month, inflation ran around 2.6 per cent.
