However, the truth is that government employees turn to unions as a refuge to avoid having to really work to keep their jobs, to perpetuate jobs that are unnecessary, and to try and obtain pay in excess of that which is economically justified. It has everything to do with politics and nothing to do with efficiency or serving the public.
