Dr. Trifkovic, who lives in Belgrade, is probably not the best person to ask about whether Islam ever had a golden age. The Slavic experience under the Ottoman Empire was not pleasant.
If you want to know about the Roman empire, do you read about Marcus Aurelius or do you read about Caligula? Both, I suggest, and a lot more.
If you want to learn about Christianity, do you read about St. Francis or the Salem Witch Trials? Both, I suggest, and a lot more.
So I would prefer a more balanced point of view when it comes to Islam. JMO.
I do agree with Dr. Trifkovic, the Christian West is not going to convert to Islam. That's simply not an option. Nor is the democractic, open West, going to convert to Shariah law. To the extent that Muslims find this intolerable, they will simply have to learn to live with it, or live elsewhere. |
