Keegstra, Zundel and Forrester were prosecuted for saying "I don't think so." That is a shame. They have a right to be wrong. We do know some things about the quality of the data. Most of the info we have is filtered through MI6 wartime and post war propaganda which was meant to support the Palestine partitioning. It is highly collaborative reports supposed to have come from Polish resistance workers who could not get into the camps or closer than one kilometre. This stuff was picked up by Shirer and reported on in his Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. He reports on a Hoess who was to testify according to Shirer about designing Birkenau in 1941 to take 2000 victims at a single gassing as an improvement on the Treblinka system of using monoxide. I think Shirer's account of this testimony is apocryphal and anyway does not tell if the system was ever put into practice. Much of the objection to the so called testimony is reasonable logistical doubt. Tales of packing 250 people in a room 4 by 4 by 2.6 metres of course can be dismissed. Dissolving prussic acid in HCL at normal room temperature and getting it to fill an entire gas chamber in 3 to 15 minutes and then immediately opening the chamber and getting all the bodies out and recycling within one hour is of course complete hogwash. It would take one hour or more to disperse the gas at normal evolution rates at 15 C. Nobody in his right mind without a gas mask would go in their in less than 2 hours after flushing. (Let's not go there, a 15 HP fan and 120 pound air in a mine stope doing push pull and we allowed 8 hours for blasting gasses to clear a small stope. But these guys used cyanide and they could do it in 15 minutes. No problem. And gas masks are no protection against cynide gas.) And then moving all those bodies is a long shift. Cremating them would take a squad of people at 2.5 hours per body per oven. At one gas cylinder per oven, 500,000 pounds of cylinders and 600 ovens to do 2000 in 8 hours. Another 8 hours just to move the 30 tons of bones and ash from the ovens. Where did all this gas come from? Just moving the cylinders would take a squad of 20 fit men 16 hours. What factory produced this rare rationed gas for the Polish camps? It could not be piped to all the diverse camps. 6 million people would have required 540,000 tons of gas. Germany could not afford it when they could not get enough diesel for their submarines. It's a numbers game proving or disproving the figures wafted about by the Holocaust historians. They will not prove it, but will attack all doubt. I am somewhere in between. Pressac published a figure of 630,000 killed. I have reason to believe that the Nazis did kill in impressive numbers. I have no doubt that they ran an efficient and odious police state that stifled all dissent and freedom of speech. If we want to learn a lesson, let's not go there again. Let's allow dissent, freedom of speech and opinion. Let's not just bandy about propaganda and State opinion as truth. There is as much evil in suppression of doubt as there is in the original Nazi crimes whatever the numbers were. EC<:-}
