Mephisto!

Champagne and diet 7-up...now that sounds like an eye-opener...I could use one this morning. My ISP finally kicked me off the internet at 3:15. But I was back at it at 5:30. Now the USRobotics server is acting up, so here I am again, back on SI.

I don't think anyone realizes how difficult it is to build a webpage through the internet. Each sepaprate gif file must be e-mailed to the host server, and then the page builder must wade through a series of pages (each one with an average wait-time of two to three minutes -- longer during peak operating hours) before the ONE SINGLE GIF is finally downloaded and saved. If the server goes down in the process, the builder must begin again. It's like being put on hold on the telephone several times for each picture, and then just as the party is about to answer -- disconnected. Arggggg! But, I've got a system...load a gif, clean a cupboard, load a gif, sweep the floor, etc. Things are starting to get organized around here!

I'm determined to finish this thing, though -- some year. It's just better to do it late at night or early morning, so that the server isn't so overloaded with eager webpage creators! Problem is...early morning is when a lot of ISP's shut down for upgrades.

BTW, I have a Casio QV-10 digital camera. I paid $400 for it in January, and they're now selling for $300. The new ones are a much higher resolution, but this one has served me well, so far...I'm really happy with it. It holds 96 pictures and has a video screen to allow you to view the pictures taken. Poor shots can be deleted on the spot and the picture retaken...no more waiting until they come back from the drugstore to realize the shot was missed...amazing technology!

Must get back and see if things have improved on usr. Talk to you soon!

-Pam
