The U.S. has militarily and financially supported Zionism for decades.
I think the US should stop supporting Pan-Arabism as well because it's incredibly destabilizing to the entire region.
And since Mubarak is a closet Pan-Arabist, and we're paying Egypt $2 Billion a year, that means cutting him off as well.
When we stop thinking that the state of Israel is a sacred entity, to be preserved at all costs,
You obviously don't like Israel and possess a strong bias against them, whereas I objectively acknowledge their right to exist and don't feel like I can play international "god" by thinking I can arbitrarily erase them from the map.
Israel, imperfect as it may be, represents the only clear democratic institution in the middle east, with governmental power derived from it citizenry, and not just a few corrupt self-pepetuating rulers.
Now I find it rather interesting to see people like yourself talking about the "rights" of the Palestinians, despite the fact that THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A PALESTINIAN STATE in all of history, yet casually discussing wiping a sovereign state of 5 million people into nothingness.
Rather presumptuous of you, isn't it?
I admire the Israelis... but I'm not under any illusions or false presumptions that they are our "allies".. Because they know the US is notorious for selling its more troublesome "allies" down the river, as it appears is occurring now.
Btw, that Jewish Army Major has Israeli citizenship automatically by virtue of his having lived there and served in the IDF. He can have dual citizenship in Israeli eyes because of the "right of return" policy.
But would it make you feel better if he renounced his Israeli citizenship, despite the fact that he was not required to renounce his US citizenship while living in Israel (could he have been an American spy during his service in the IDF?).
Will that suddenly become a new policy for every new US citizen that they must first renounce all affinity and ties to the nation they once came from?
I truly hope this guy lost his clearance for some reason that is far more substantial than just the fact that his family still lives there.
Otherwise, this could involve all Jews losing their clearances, to be followed closely by all Arabs.
Of course, for an Anglo-Saxon, Native American heinz 57 like myself, that would open up many more job opportunities... :0)
Unless somehow, Cherokees, Welshmen, and the Scottish suddenly find themselves on the DOD blacklist.
