I grew up in NYC during and after WWII. I don't recall that the large Jewish population of NYC held rallies and petitioned the government to drop nuclear weapons on Germany to retaliate for the Holocaust.

I don't think opposition to the use of nuclear weapons is "smug." I don't believe that nucear weapons are the answer to anything but the use of nuclear weapons against us. I understand your concerns, but in this world, nuclear weapons are not any kind of solution and they certainly are not a solution to terrorist attacks.

I don't believe Sadam will launch anything. He has an address. He can be reached. He will clandestinely support the Bin Ladens of the world. When we get proof of his support, then we need to finish the job that the last Bush administration was too corrupt to finish. We can destroy Sadam with conventional weapons and conventional military.
