usenetpro.com or
usenetopia.com
(both the same site)

It's an *amazing* program. Give it your main newsgroup server, download the list of newsgroups, then on your request it will search through the headers of news posts and extract the IP addresses of public news servers that you can use. This is great, because:
(A) If you have 200 news servers instead of 1, your chances of finding a particular file is greatly improved
(B) Sometimes (at least, in the US, usually), your main news server will limit you to as little as four connections
(C) If your main server goes down, you can still download the files you want.

NewsPro (that's the name of the program) allows you to look in a newsgroup that is in several servers, but it can hide the multiple servers, so that you just see all the files in that newsgroup. It automatically uudecodes and has six trillion other features.

I am in love with this program. I have to relearn coding in C so that I can make something at least basely equivalent for my current OS. ^_^

Oh, it's a huge hog because of its database requirements. Make sure your system has strong I/O capability. And get a bigger hard drive, for it will be full in about a week.
