One other point on ene. I forgot about the balance sheet. The CEO comment of the balance sheet taking longer to prepare just doesn't make sense. In accounting you ensure the balance sheet is balanced prior to finalizing the income statement. His comment is just opposite my education and training. I can state when I was an auditor, on the companies I participated in, the financials would not be released until the auditors had performed their review. Of course an audit is year end vs interim quarters but the principle is the same.

When working in private (vs public doing audits) many a night we would be working till the early hours closing the quarter. So I just don't understand the new / old CEO's comments.

Look at Citigroup. They do not have this issue and they have quite a bit of complexity in their balance sheet (watch C now have a problem <g>).
