Scott,

I completely agree & have stated so several times. IMHO, it is a no win situation to capture Bin Laden & bring him to trial. If he is put to death he's been martyred. If he is put in jail, kidnapping will happen to countless Americans with Bin Laden as the ransom, plus his imprisonment will serve to incite radical terrorists. If he is killed by our special forces, again he will have been martyred.

The only possible winning solution is for our special forces to capture him & quietly dispose of him without this becoming public knowledge (gives us plausible deniability as we continue to "search" the world over for him & destroy all other terrorist networks).........

Sometimes it's necessary to cross the line a bit to bring an end to such horrific actions. IMO, it only should be sanctioned in the most egregious cases & Bin Laden is one of them.
