That is debatable. Many Afghans have little choice but to work as a foot soldier just to feed themself. If they think the Taliban is going down, they will ally themself with the winning team. As well, NA has had no access to intel or even a modern rifle, let alone artilary. The balance could change with the support.

Not a chance. Read the official name of the country. It is a fundamentalist Islamic government. The whole country was formed on the basis of religion to begin with. Pakistan dreams of somehow creating a satilite government in Afghanistan and the only way it can hope to do so is by putting a Islamic fundamentalist Pashtun government there. That's what Taliban were all about.

Which means what was to be a disaster before, has now turned into a horrible human catsrophy. I saw clip the other day of a family who had eaten grass in the mountains for weeks while trying to make it to the border. In another clip I saw a 3 year old baby that was too malnurished to walk and was crawling to her mother. The mother too was too weak to pick up the baby. But the saddest part of it was the expression on her face. She had the look of a half dead person who is just waiting for death.
