I don't have a problem with wstera expressing his opinion. I do wish he had documented his charge. I'm a bit of a Rip van Winkle on SI, but I vaguely recall some controversy surrounding Bilow. But having been involved in my share of controversies, I don't think being involved with controversy necessarily demeans you (it may simply mean you are a bit ornery). I've certainly made my share of acerbic comments: it depends on circumstances. And frankly I think Bilow should have the opportunity to defend himself- but maybe I don't quite have the hang of moderated threads. Moreover, I think it is fitting that people should live by the reputations: frankly I like to have a sense of whom to avoid (I just can't do that unless the poster impugning someone's character includes references).
