I disagree

Thousands of lives and billons of dollars can be saved if even one critical piece of information is gained from the live capture and interrogation of bin Laden and crew.

It is emotionally satisfying to terminate him, and much easier than a live capture, but much more dangerous. These cells that still exist in the US and Europe are capable of further damage orders of magnitude beyond what we've seen. The absolute priority is wiping them out.

As far as kidnapping - I agree they wish to do that. However, all such terrorists have been trying to kidnap and kill as many as possible already - that's not a change in threat level.

Do you think they will do any less kidnapping or forms of mass destruction if OBL is not taken, or somehow quietly killed? Not likely.
