I had the good fortune to be able to talk at length to a Afghan student a few weeks ago. His father was a medical Army General or something and he grew up in a military hospital while warring with Russia. You can be sure he is part of the Afghan community that is very happy to see the Taliban being scrubbed. So I imagine there are many factions with various opinions on the issue. But the point remains there is only one way to stop/limit Afghanistan from being a safe harbor for the scum of the earth.

I think there are several reasons that the West, in particular the USA cause so much hatred:

First and foremost we look after our national interests at the expense of other peoples rights to national self determination. Think oil and think Iran, Iraq, SA, etc.

Our ideology of liberal secular democratic societies satisfies much of our needs as humans. The Koran and all that follows evidently cannot satisfy peoples whole needs.

Look on the map wherever Islam has touched and wherever England has touched. What a difference.

Their ideology as a whole is defective and does not serve humankind. Until they accept responsibility for the condition of this life and look to improve it without blaming others, we will be at odds with them.
