Speaking of the COT--Commitment of Traders, Jack Carl
futures and also possibly Barcharts.com has a very nice
free charting menu of where you can see what the
commercials, large traders and small traders are doing.

customer1.barchart.com

I think that link will work. we can see that the
commercials got very short in late April and early May.
While the Large Traders ( who are commodity funds, hedge
funds etc) were net long more contracts than any time this
year. Of course the Commercials, who are in the business
tend to be right most of the time, were short the futures
at the time.

Prices fell considerably as they should, Recently the
commercials have become net long once again while the
traders are quite short Dec coffee.

Larry Williams Book "How I made a Million Dollars trading
Commodities" was one of the popular groundbreakers that
told of this COT fundamentals approach back in the early
1970's.

The book has a surprising amount of useful information for
a book that is not really that big and is deceptively easy
to read.

I don't recall the Jackcarl or any site have the visual
charts of the COT data last year.

Peter, I know that you know the above info, except for
possibly that the JC site has the COT info, but I figured
I'd post it for the lurkers.

John

EDIT:

don't know if you've seen this Gann Square of nine article

marketwarrior.com

I started looking at it early, but had to go do something
else, I thought I saw a problem.... (I've got a phone call
and am not gonna get this in this post)
