Bush's $100 billion economic stimulus plan only managed to pass the House by two votes today, 216-214. I see the 2-vote margin as a moral defeat for Bush. The plan represents more enrichment for the rich and thumbs its nose at the American worker, especially the tens of thousands recently laid off through no fault of their own. Senate Democrats have already pledged to perform major surgery on the bill.

If the economy continues to worsen, it's just a matter of time before more House and Senate Republicans abandon the "enrich the rich" Bush economic game plan or risk being run out of office a year from now.
