This evening 20/20 aired an interview with the air traffic controller who monitored the plane that hit Washington, DC. When it circled and turned away from the White House she and her colleagues were relieved, thinking perhaps it was a fighter instead of an airliner (remember, the transponder was off). Then it turned around again, came back in, and disappeared off the scope. Soon they got the word that the Pentagon had been hit.

Later she visited the scene and concluded that the intended target was the White House. The plane was heading east into the sun, so they would have had trouble finding it. But they would have seen the Pentagon on the way in, so they went for it instead. I wonder if OBL is trying to smuggle in a new team to finish the job...
