Or are they just making it up?
It appears the Taliban are making up a lot of news and there is no counter reporting. Why? Because Rumsfeld and Powell think that there is some advantage to keeping the war so secret that nobody can verify any information. There may be battles in Afganistan, but the war on terrorism is a world wide war. The U.S. could lose the worldwide campaign for the hearts and minds of the muslim people by promoting ignorance and the resulting rumors.
