Liberals are unique in shouting down opposing views.

(YYB, there is nothing personal in this. I am truly sorry for your personal burdens and sacrifices, as I have been there/done that and well know the emotional and physical toll it takes on one)

But back to the point. Having lived on college campuses all my working life, I have had plenty of opportunity to witness confrontations between liberals and conservatives. In my view, it is only the liberals who commonly use the tactic of trying to prevent the opposition from speaking at all. This is accomplished by trying to prevent conservatives from being invited to speak in the first place, and if that fails, by organizing raucous, disruptive demonstrations to cause chaos, and if that fails, by shouting and screaming as to drown out whatever the opposition is trying to say. I have honestly not seen the conservatives use the same tactics.

In my long life I have not infrequently found myself agreeing with certain liberal positions. But I have never agreed with the tactic of attempting to silence opposing views altogether. "Truth" (whatever it may be) should be able to withstand free and open discourse from all sides of an issue.

Does this have anything to do with what has happened on this thread? That is for each to decide on his/her own.
