Just curious, but how much have all Intel's communications and "other" acquisitions from the last couple of years made so far? How much of Intel's CPU and flash profit has been lost from these "strategic" acquisitions of Mr. Barrett? The Business Week cover story a couple weeks ago on Mr. Barrett was not the most complimentary of him or the direction he has taken Intel. I know, Jerry Sanders didn't make the cover story.

Intel has lost a ton of money over the last few years from their venture into "other areas". I think Intel realizes historical margins just aren't going to be there in the future for processors. They need to diversify into other areas. AMD on the other hand is consolidating into a market where they continue to lose, but there again they can continue their Jehad so they're happy. The question is are shareholders happy with a share price that has gone nowhere in decades?

I am disappointed with AMD's loss, which was primarily due to Intel's aggressive pricing.

AMD started the "agressive pricing" and Intel has continuously priced above AMD. AMD is to blame for their choice to put market share above profitability, all part of the Jehad strategy.

How long will Intel's market cap stay over $165 Billion with quarterly profits of only $106 Million per quarter?

Not long.

Will Intel shareholders accept a 200 to 300 P/E ratio for Intel assuming they are limited to $.02 of profit per quarter?

Speaking as an Intel shareholder I realize that Intel cannot enjoy the type of revenue growth they have historically seen based on processor shipments alone. They're trying in other areas and I believe they will be successful. Yes it hurts in ths short term but Intel has lots of money to tide them over and they remain profitable.

I believe Intel has lost the price war as they did not meet their goal of recapturing meaningful market share.

Intel survives the price war and continues to be profitable. If you think Intel lost then what do you think happened to AMD?

I am also disappointed that AMD's officers bailing out on their options in the $30's, seemingly at the expense of us "faithful" AMD shareholders. I'm sure Mr. Barrett has never exercised any of his stock options, so you have me there. I concede.

Sure Barrett has made a ton of $$ on his options but he's delivered shareholder value over the long haul. Jerry has decimated a once profitable company, sold off profitable divisions, even sold the headquarters to fund what has been a negative return. All while enriching himself for decades and what has he given you in return?
