dj - central bank rates vs. prime rates money-rates.com Fed's goal is to support the market, ECB's goal is price stability. Not starting a discussion here. ECB still is independant as there is no official body which could dictate her policy. Remains that the prime rate is lower in Europe than in the US. So, WTH should the ECB lower official rates?
