It should be obvious after three quarters this year that AMD's K7 party is over, and through their huge successes, they've failed to improve the company enough to win the next generation of products. I think the most telling thing is that AMD's newest product line was not able to pass Intel's existing but about to be older product line. The AthlonXP only matches P4 in integer. With Northwood about to appear AMD needed to pass P4, not just match it. Instead of leapfrog, AMD is now only playing catchup and only for a few weeks. EP
