Government questions nuclear scientist over Taliban links: ISLAMABAD, Oct 25: Government authorities have detained a former top government nuclear scientist over links between his relief agency and Taliban, a military spokesman told AFP today. Sultan Bashiruddin Mahmood, who was a project director in Pakistan's nuclear program in 1998, was detained for questioning today, spokesman Major General Rashid Qureshi said. Since retiring from Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, Mahmood had run a group that did relief work in Afghanistan, Qureshi said.
