No,there are no shareholders. Sometimes there are members to account to. Overall, I don't know how many are unionized. Some. As for the reading, this is an impression formed over time, when some companies have had problems attributed, at least in part, to board dereliction. I cannot give you much off the top of my head. If I recall details, I will let you know. Non- profits rarely pay even expenses for board members, although some do. Anyway, I object to assuming that these are common problems, without real data. I don't see how the matter can be settled one way or another based on anecdotal evidence.....
