Elmer, re:Nexgen Your figures are wrong. The 723m earnings total occured despite writing off all of the Nexgen goodwill! In other words, the cost of acquiring Nexgen has already been subtracted from AMD's earnings. Without that, AMD's earnings would have been ~700m higher. Better to compare book value, and you will see that AMD's has been growing much faster than Intel's.

But at the same time they were declaring the sale of the PLD group, comms group and headquarters building as profit when in reality they were just hocked at the pawn shop to fund the Jehad. Any way you cut it, NexGen hasn't paid off and AMD probably would have been better off keeping their profitable divisions and not fighting the Jehad. Better off financially that is, but they wouldn't have had the spiritual benefit of martyrdom. Jerry truly is the Talibon and he'll take shareholders down with him.
