Playing the blame game is pointless. All any Democratic candidate has to do is ask a few simple questions: "Were you better off in 1999 than in 1992? Were you better off in 1999 than in 2002? Is your 401(k) better off now than it was in 1999?

Also consider the tens of thousands of workers who are being laid off work every month. Why in hell would these people vote Republican in '02 or '04? The House-passed economic recovery bill says "Piss on you" to these people.
