Or how about he and his cronies are captured and sweated for information the next hundred years. Why announce anything at all? You win wars by hitting your enemy ten times as hard as he hits you. One way to hit this enemy is to bring terror to them. One part of that is terrorizing them, bringing their worst fears home to them, not letting them know anything that we are doing. As the President said, many activities are taking place that will be "secret in their success."
