I think we need some clarification here. Your comments and many of the news reports seem to be using the terms "spore" and "particle" to mean the same thing. I would think that the spores are all the same size, and that the particles are clumps of spores. When the carcass rots the bacteria turn into spores. So all the spores should be the same size, right?
