Tomb Raider was a good little game, but it lagged behind many of the major titles, Quake included. I'll draw my line in the sand by saying that Unreal can and will move 3D graphics cards. You need a reason to buy one and a game is the only reason I can think of. Unreal's stength won't just come from the game play but from the build engine. When people get a load of this capability they won't be able to resist. Consoles are a huge market but eventually the PC will grab the publics attention as the vehicle of choice for gaming. I know the old argument will crop up that no one buys a computer just to play games but games actually are a nice incentive. I have helped many people choose and build their PC's and when I asked them why they wanted one...uhh...well they weren't sure but they bought one anyway. When asked what they are using it for by their friends the answer usually goes "...I can play these really neat games... 64 bit consoles are obviously a step up from anything before them but PC's offer games that are so much more flexible in the game play.
